This Is The Start of Something Big…

Today is just the start of a New Day in government, and to some of us it will be a frustrating time because nothing will happen as quickly as we want – but it is a start.

The numbers say that the next election will see the Senate in Republican hands because so many more Democrat seats are being contested than Republican seats, but the president still has the veto until then and a Senate that is slow-moving at best and under Democratic party control at worst.

Nevertheless, it is a start. Anyone hoping for change is going to be frustrated. The Tea Party philosophy is not even a philosophy embraced by all Republicans in the House, much less the House in general, and the House is but a small part of the government.

But a message has been sent, and we can only hope that the message has also been heard by all members of the government with the same clarity. That is unlikely. The Democrats are still imbued with Ward Politics, which is basically not what is best for the people but what is best for OUR people, and Republicans from liberal states tend to have a less virulent case of the same politics.

(It is not an accident that many off the inner circle of the Chicago-ward mentality president are also Chicago-ward style politicians. But, in effect, Chicago-style politics is really big-city politics and they are ALL Democratic –controlled because big cities lend themselves to ward politics.)
