Did you know that, although cameras are not permitted in the US Supreme Court, the oral arguments are available the evening that they are made in audio on the C-Span site?
It is NOT a long process. Oral arguments before the SCOTUS rarely last more than an hour, and happen fewer than 90 times a year. Some are plainly boring – the one today was about the ability of AT&T to enforce arbitration clause in California. It should be available tonight, and the last one currently on the site is Schwarzenegger v. Entertainment Merchants Judicial Proceeding, Nov 2, 2010.
C-Span is where you can find unfiltered information, and the actual words of opinion without intervening analysis – for those who want their drinks straight. On any subject before SCOTUS, you can hear the distilled arguments made by the best(sic) lawyers in the US.
C-SPAN is 100% privately funded by corporate donations and has never received a penny of government money — and Brian Lamb says he will resign the day a penny of government money arrives.
